Being a teacher is my calling

I have taught for 27 years. Over those years I have built up rich experience of working with pupils of both junior and senior school age.

I grew up surrounded by teachers and writers, so Russian language and literature became my favourite subjects from earliest childhood. Many years of work at a language-specialised school and taking part in the “Teacher of the Year” competition helped me find answers to the key questions: how to teach children to truly understand a text, and how not to turn lessons into cramming boring rules.

My approach to teaching

To develop pupils' creative thinking I have designed teaching materials. My aim is to create a creative learning environment in which:

• ·Learning through play — the child explores the world and actively trains memory and imagination;
• ·Self-expression — every pupil's creative potential unfolds;
• ·A systematic approach — the teaching principle “from simple to complex” is followed strictly.

The result

With this approach the child does not simply learn to read. They effectively expand their vocabulary and acquire the skill of conscious reading, without boring and tiring cramming.
